Another Annoying rattling sound Help To
STi Just comming up to the first 1000k service ( at last ) and for the last 200 miles I have a rattle that seems to be coming from the rear shelf area.
Any ideas from the experts....

Yes same happened with mine....real bad rattling from the back-shelf area. For me it was the rear windscreen. People at Subaru removed the entire rear windsceen and resealed it again with new silicon. No more rattle afterwards
btw, before getting the job done the rattling was horrendous and whenever it rained or whenever I washed the car, water would pour into the boot...watch out for a leaky boot!

Mine did this too - pulled the seats out , A panels , stuck all the plastic bits up with duck tape - turned out to be the rear window.
I took the A panels out and sprayed the seals on the inside with silicone type lubricant - did the same under the window seals on the outside. No rattle anymore.
By the way the rattle only occurred after the dealer had added more sealant to the rear window due to water ingress into the boot. Dealer then couldn't find the rattle but i fixed due to help on scoobynet! - No water ingress now either.
These are great cars but they aren't as well assembled as german motors.
