Has anybody use Thee AA for a car inspection b4 buying a car?

just hope I dont spend the money and find out the car is poo pood but will save money tho.

I was going to use it, sound alright. View the car yourself, if you think it's okay get it done, it'll give you something to bargain with to get money off.

i had an RAC inspection done on a scoob, same sort of price and the inspection is pretty identical from what i gather.
one word of warning, after the initial shock of them picking holes in everything with the car to justify charging you over £200, sit down and read the report thru before you give up on the car.
when i had mine done things were said like 'the oil level is down a bit, so it would appear to burn oil' , is it me or maybe it wasn't filled up properly when it was serviced?
excellent thing to have done though if you're unsure about the car though, it just tends to put you off a bit when every little niggle is pointed out.

Yes
I agree with PhilA, have a good look around yourself and if you like it get an AA inspection done. I did that and it saved me buying a lemon from a Mitsubishi dealer.
As hoskib states though they will justify the £200 spent by listing "everything" wrong with the car, however the "everything" is listed on a scale from essential repairs down to cosmetic prep work.
Worth also spending that little but more for the bodywork inspection as mine revealed a well hidden shoddy repair which I hadnt noticed at the time of my viewing (and I used to work in a garage!).
