Squeeky Seats
Guys, my front seats have developed squeeks over the years and the drivers side is now a total pain !
Every bounce causes it to squeek and I'm considering replacement ...
The cars done 103000 miles, so they are a little grubby too -
It a UK 98 Turbo -
Options ?
Thanks,
Mark

My Passenger side seat does this on MY00WRS - started a few weeks ago and bloody annoying. Thing is the ones fitted are the Electric Prodrive Recaro's - have tried spraying WD40 on the lower springs but to no avail.
Any other ideas ?

On both my previous scoobs MY97 Turbo and UK300, i found the seat belt fastener was making the squeaking noises, not the seat.
A quick squirt of WD40 sorted it

my driver seat squeks too, what squeks with mine is a bar underneath the seat.
if you take out the seat, flip it over there is a bar about 8mm diameter running along the front part of the base (if that makes sense) it's held on by a couple of bits of weld and i think it has some plastic clips on it to hold the seat fabric. it's the welds that have broken and rub against another piece of metal creating the squek in my case.
this doesn't read very well, but if you have a look you should see the bit i'm on about, might be worth a look if nothing else works.

Are you sure its not the seatbelt? My seatbelt base (the bit with the button) squeaks. It stops if i take the belt off. Obviously driving without belt is not an option as i am not a *****, so i'm gonna try some WD40 as suggested or get harnesses

I had the same problem on my MY98, it took an age to find the cause. Eventually, I traced it to the seat belt socket. I sprayed some silicon grease inside the socket and all is now well.
