Exclamation Variable Diff control

The diff control on a Type R allows you to adjust the handling of the car at the turn of a dial.

In the open position (dashboard indicator is fully green), the centre diff will transmit more power to the axle with better traction (usually the rear), in a ratio of 36/64 front/rear. In addition, the mechanical diff in the rear axle locks both rear driveshafts once slip is detected. This enables rear rear-drive antics such as power oversteer.

Winding the dial forwards sends more power to the front axle. If one of the front wheels begins to slip, the viscous unit ensures that drive is directed to the wheel with most grip.

Pushing the dial fully forward (Indicated in yellow as 'locked' on the dash) will lock the centre diff keeping torque at 50/50 front/rear.
