Default Returning the car to standard

Well, I've just returned from putting a deposit down on a 1999 Impreza Wagon (turbo). Great car - I was really impressed with it's 'road confidence' and general manner.

Getting to the point, the previous owner has swapped the standard air system over for a K&N, and the wheels are brand new gold after-market 17"s. It also has a huge exhaust which I'm not sure is standard.
I'm buying it from a trader, so can't get the original parts from the previous owner.

What's the rough price for second-hand Subaru replacements for the airbox and alloys? I don't want to pay extra on my insurance for modifications I don't want!

The best thing to do would be to sell the parts on here for cash+ standard items

Check out liverpool victoria for an insurance quote.
They do not charge extra for these modifications

But i do think they require you to be 25 or 30 years old ( can't remember which )

if the alloys are subaru wheels then ur insurance should not be affected. speedline produce wheels for prodrive, which in turn can be sold by subaru(wel....near enough anyway) and these dont have to have a premium on them. worth finding out about anyways.

The wheels as stated may be OEM, check the make of them, my waggon came with the pro-drive handling pack; springs, damper, quickshift and 17" gold pro-drive alloys.

No the zaust is not standard, the standard is a twin pipe. Note that by the sounds of the mods on it, you will loose a fait bit of power in removing them

I've been racking my brains trying to remember what the wheels are! I've never heard of the make, but they look about a day old!

Still being a Scooby-newbie, all I can see the K&N doing is drawing warm air in from the engine bay. It gave off a nice induction roar, but I'm wondering how much power I'm losing by having it on.

Will try Liverpool Victoria for my insurance - thanks for the tip!
