THREE WEEKS TO GO BEFORE THE FIRST TRUE SHOW n GO AMERICAN STYLE EVENT TAKES PLACE

The fastest 32 Japanese cars in Britain are going head to head for the first time ever, and there WILL only be ONE WINNER !!

Come and see the very best cars the Japanese Car Comunaty can offer, and for the fist time not just see them looking good but performing real good as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is to let you all know of the biggest Japanese Car event this year. The MRC Japanese Streetfigher Showdown taking place on 31st May, at Shakespeare County Raceway. A massive show combined with a "Run What Ya brung" event plus full-on quarter mile competition with the UK's most powerful Japanese Sports Cars.

Mazda is planning to launch a new sports model based on the MX-5 at the show - and there will be cash prizes and lots of trophies on offer for the best cars.

(The following is extracted from Japanese Performance Magazine, Issue 40 May 2004, page 12).

If you've never seen a 10 second quarter mile by a 1,000 bhp Skyline GT-R or 1100 bhp Supra, don't miss this event. You may have seen how the top players compare at drag events before but this is the first time that the UK's top Japanese Sports cars have had the chance to shoot it out on a properly prepared surface and against the clock.

Hosted by the Mazda Rotary Club in conjunction with Shakespeare County Raceway, the event is open to all makes of Japanese performance car. For those who want the opportunity to get in some quarter mile practice before the proper event the strip is also open on Sat 29th & Sun 30th May for the Nitrous Modified Show and RWYB. The main event for Jap-only cars is Rotorstock, on the bank Holiday Monday. In the morning and until 3pm, anyone can give it their best on the dragstrip, but from 3pm the Japanese Streetfighter Showdown begins. Here, the fastest runners of the morning and previous day have the chance to battle it out against the invited star cars and their drivers.

The "Star Car" entrants invited by MRC for the Japanese Streetfighter Showdown make a truly impressive list. It includes the awesome Nissan Skylines of Rocket Ronnie (Abbey Motorsport prepared), Gary Passingham (GT-Art), Ron & Darren Kiddell (RK Racing), plus other hot contenders including Simon Norris' amazing 10 sec. Evo VII, Adrian Smith's Fensport Corolla and untra quick Supras of Dee Ireland (CRD) and Leon Green (JPS Motorsport). Expect to see some very special lightweight RX-7's there too - with 500 + bhp. Some of the most powerful Scoobies will be attending too. Abbey Motorsport's Mark Gillingham is also hoping to have completed his beast of a Skyline which is expected to have 1,300 bhp on tap.

The fastest 32 Japanese cars in Britain are going head to head for the first time ever, and there WILL only be ONE WINNER !!

This really is a meeting for all, with an interest in Japanese cars be it Show or Go, and even if you think '' well my cars not fast'' you could still win the best reaction time at the lights!!

There are 50 or so Trophys and also prize money on offer at Rotorstock for not only the track action but also the Show side.

Entry to the event costs £18 (£15 in advance) plus a further £15 for unlimited runs on the drag strip for the Sunday and Monday.

This promises to be the greatest event for Japanese cars this year and is to be supported and sponsored by Japanese Performance, so expect to see a feature on the event in July's edition.

There is also a Video being made that will go on worldwide sale.

We will all be there for the Sunday when qualyfying gets underway, but RotorStock itself is on the Monday when the venue becomes Japanese only.

More details on the Rotorstock website www.rotorstock.com or for ticket inquiries, call 01803-554308.

We look forward to seeing you ALL there, for this unmissable exciting FIRST event of it's kind meeting!
