Default Air-con

Having spent the past year enjoying air conditioning on my MR2, can anyone tell me which Imprezas came with air-con as standard (if any outside the JDM models)?

Two chaps at work with Imprezas don't have air-con on their MY95 and MY98 models, and I don't fancy retro-fitting it to mine...when I get it!

MY99/00 had air-con, IIRC.

Well, my MY99 does, as do my 2 mate's MY00...

I think it was an option on classic ones but was standard on bugeye and later ones. Can be retrofitted to a classic by a main dealer for £1000 or about £300 to £500 using second hand bits.

As IanD says above it was an option on the classic shape but came as standard on the bugeye onwards (think it came as standard on jap import classics)

Thanks for the info guys.

Looks like I've got to look for it to be already installed or hassle the bank manager for that little bit more!

Don't be scared off retro fitting aircon to an Impreza, I did mine & it really was easy & cheap. A morning is all it would take to fit (th loom is in all in place) & I bought all the required kit for £250.
