Personally I would not mix OB with 95 RON unleaded. You may as well just use Optimax or BP Ultima. Now if you are going to mix it with one of these then you should see less knock. This is what I use it for, to reduce knock. I could not say if it gives you more BHP. I use NF Race Formula.

Ed,

I'm using millers octane booster & opimax, running around the 100RON mark

I get mine from:

Scott Lowe
very good fast service

Like above i's a waste of money to buy it & use it on 95RON, will raise octane rating by +2 = 97 RON i.e Optimax/Ultimate, bearing in mind millers is £3 per bottle!

Cheers

Tim

Agree with both posts regards the 95Ron fuel your using, use optimax. Also one more vote for millers, always used it with no probs.

My car is a uk turbo.
I always use optimax, but recently bought some millers to carry in the boot just in case i get caught out in the sticks and cant find a bp or shell garage.

Pooey 95ron and booster has got to better than pooey on its own

I forgot to say you should always carry some in the boot for when you have to use pooey fuel

sti555: how much does Scott Lowe charge for delivery? Millers sell directly (http://www.millersoils.net/purchase.cgi) for about £3.20 per bottle (10-pack, inc. VAT) but they charge £7.50 for delivery.

Try your local motor factors, A.R.E. order it in for me and don't charge delivery and I pay £29.96 for 10

Knock is pre-ignition. It's when the charge in the cylinder ignites too soon. If unchecked, it can cause serious damage to the engine internals. Many engines have been lost due to 'knock'. Knock can be caused by the mixture running too lean (too little fuel). Hence the addition of octane booster to raise the knock threshold.
