When i bought my my99 turbo here in kenya second hand, the previous owner told me it was chipped. but i know for a fact NO ONE in kenya does re maps or chipping of any cars. there is not even a single dyno or rolling road in the country. but i recently found out that he actually took the ECU to england to get chipped, or got someone from overseas to come and do it or something like that. but i have no idea what kind of re map or chipping this is. so i took a look at my ecu and this is what i found.

http://scoobyboy0.tripod.com/DSCN9750.jpg

the writing reads "SPEC 6 - VER" "BOOST 1.1 BAR" "LECI" and an arrow pointing to one of the connector looms. what kind of a remap job is this? piggy back? remap? all i can tell is boost is up to 1.1 bar.

any help appreciated
zak.

I think what you need to do is to take the ally cover of the ecu and get a good close up pic of the actual chips inside, like this one. From that some one may be able to identify the chip??

i will do that soon. i just thought it was hooked up to an external piggy back chip due to the messy wiring (with the electrical tape etc). but can anyone tell anything from the current pic? the car is 4000 kms away right now so i cant get a pic right now.
