Mine was terrible. Every little dab on the accelerator had the back end sliding out slightly. A slight touch on the brakes had the ABS twitching. MY97 with 6 month old Toyo's 17".
I actually ended up with brown trousers at one point on the slip road off the M60 this morning

Actually got to play with the centre diff bias on my Type R for the first time this morning (bought the motor in August)- really useful when going from the slushy stuff to dry tarmac to thicker build ups, plus being a Type R means I had no ABS to worry about either!

u saying take the abs fuses out what exactly dos this achieve dos it just give a better feel of the brakes in the snow.
It stops the ABS from activating and therefore basically disconnecting the brakes. I don't know how you found it in Aberdeen this morning but even going very slowly and braking gently I had one instance where I was trying to stop down a slight hill and the ABS activated and the car just wouldn't slow down at all. I had to drive around the car in front and stop beside it - Not good.
If you deactivate the ABS by taking the fuses out the wheels will lock so you won't be able to steer, but you get a bit more braking before the wheels lock fully than the ABS'll allow, and if you need to stop quickly on snow it's actually more effective to lock the wheels so they push some snow in front of them and maybe begin to scrape through to the road a bit.
That said, your insurance company would take a dim view of you doing this, so be aware of that.

The problem with ABS on is it is designed to not lock the wheels but to keep the turning , so on snow if you stamp on the brakes the wheels will not stop they will keep going hence you will continue to slide over the top of the snow with no control. If you take the abs fuse out the wheels will lock and dig into the snow on the road so you will stop, there won't be much in it but it could mean hitting the car in front or missing it by 1 inch, the choice is yours.
If you are still sceptical then try it in a car park with and without ABS.
What you could do is put a blown fuse in slot 8 and 14 then your abs will still not work but if the insurance company inspect your car all the fuses are inplace, just tell them you had no idea the abs fuse had blown, or tell them it blew whilst on the snow, just lie like most people do.

Guilty as charged, mind you I don't use the footbrake in this weather, just the gearbox and the handbrake. Sideways into the works carpark got a few claps from the building site opposite this morning.

All kinds of fun in Aberdeen. Just went out to take some photos, & having a right laugh I'm not finding braking too easy, but the corners were very sideways.
I'd better take it easy though, coz I'm about to sell it...

Not to work 'cos I'm not working ATM but sprog to school & a Sainsbury's run...
Engaged my ABS Cut-Out Switch for the snowy bits & re-engaged on main roads/towns that were clear.
We live a couple of miles into the boonies, so the roads round here were/still are deep in snow. Its drifting a bit too. No problems at all getting about & a bit of 4-wheel slides round corners etc added to the fun
Met another car coming up a hill that was getting icy - single lane. He stopped & I slowed down, drove off into the field and back onto the road again. He couldn't get going again, so I waited a bit just in case I had to go & pull him up the hill
Only problem? P1 lip - acts like a snow plow you're driving along & you go somewhere where the centre ridge is high & straight up over the bonnet into the windscreen The whole lower part of the bumper is full of snow - post a pic later.
Off to have some more fun
