At present i'm having a few problems with my local bodyshop getting a good match on some bodywork i had done recently.Been back a few times, problems with blending in/colour match on metallic silver.
Has anyone else had similair problems, what was the outcome, etc.
Just looking to hear of your experiences.
Thanks

Yep silver is the worst colour to match. You really need to find a good bodyshop.
Had the whole front end on my MY99 done properly and the colour match was perfect, paint finish was better than the factory. So it is possible.
Dave.

everytime ive been to a bodyshop for paint ive heard that my current colour is the hardest colour to match
its all a load of bollocks imo
black could be seen as a really hard colour if the original paint is weatherd and scratched
red could be hard if the original is faded
white becuase the original paint can go yellow and flat
etc etc etc etc etc
crap bodyshops should be forced to close down!!

I had a shoddy "insurance" repair after someone mounted my rear end on the motorway. It was disgraceful to the point where after their third attempt to put it right failed it got transfered to a BMW bodyshop.
My insurance claimed "...the BMW is a Mercedes approved repairer, top of the range body shop...etc etc" 3 months later and countless numbers of times I took it back the colour still isnt correct, reddish blue MY97, the boot is still full of water. In the sunlight the back end of the car is purple. Everytime I took it back I would be greeted by the " oh ****, its that idiot with the Subaru again...." Each time they would give me a crappy courtesy car....
