Having had my 1.8 GL wagon for a year now, I thought it was time for some real power, so a Range Rover will soon be mine.
It's a classic 3.5 Efi Auto V8, from 1988, owned by a guy from a Land Rover garage nr Aberdeen. I'll have another look at it tomorrow, but he wants to p/x it for my impreza, so all should be good.
Has an LPG conversion as well, so 15mpg shouldn't be too painful. I thought about it quite a bit, and it should cost about the same to run. No main dealer servicing, parts a hellova lot cheaper, & the insurance is cheaper as well, which I was surprised about...
Anyway, I'll still come on here, Rangie or not... Kind of addictive

Why not?
Better than a scoob at getting out of snow drifts anyway...
I haven't bought it yet anyway, but it is a goodun. Waxoyled all over, police spec springs, dampers & roll bars etc.
I realise they're not as reliable as a scoob & have certain disadvantages, but I could use summat a bit bigger for the windsurfing gear, & towing stuff. My Impreza is pretty terrible at both those things.
Farmers cars eh lol Better ground clearance than a turbo though. perhaps the only advantage, but it's good for some off roading. Low range gears as well. Bet your jealous

Are they as expensive as Impreza parts though?
I picked it up yesterday - traded in the Scoob, & it's going well. I wasn't planning to use main dealers anyway - there's plenty of places for parts which are cheaper than that Thanks for the advice anyway
