I'm soon to be getting a blackjax anti-hijack device fitted to my WRX and wondered if anyone would be interested in a group buy to try and keep the price down. I will be speaking with local suppliers/fitters in the next couple of days to get some prices for 5-10-15-20 systems etc, so if anyone else is interested leave your name here and send this to the top.

Prices to follow soon

**PRICE CONFIRMED**

£130 supplied & fitted in Leeds by a very reputable Clifford installer, anyone interested please add your name to the list and contact me via email with your contact details

Phil

Count me in on this one m8, after my brakes this week, this will be the next mod, as the wife is making noises about driving my scoob!

Been waiting for a group buy on this for a while, probably should have started one myself!!

Whereabouts would we need to go to fit?

Just recieved a price from one of the suppliers, but still waiting for others to get back to me.

1st price to come in so far is for £152.75 fitted in Leeds, 5 mins from J27 of the M62 and this price is for 5 units or more. For those of you who can put it through a business thats £130+vat.

looks promising so far although I'm not sure what full retail cost is for one of these, but I'll wait to see the other prices first

I would be interested in one after reading all the stories,
Does it work in conjunction with my existing alarm or is it a totally different system.

Count me in.

Depending on the alarm you have it mite match up to it, but usually they wire it up to your car horn and also install a siren in the car itself

Pardon my ignorance - but how does BlackJax work ?

Do you have to continually put a code number in ? does it have a visible keypad ? - all the literature says you just hand the keys over and it sorts itself out - what if you dont stop the engine etc ?

Cheers

IIRC - if a door is opened you have to tap in a code otheriwse it activates after a few mins and shuts down the car/sets of siren

OK, I'm going to be really cheeky here, but would anyone mind if I were to get one of these units fitted to my car through this group buy, even though it's not a Scooby? I've just done some reading on the net and it looks like top stuff, especially the way it "pulses down the ignition with the siren sounding and the lights flashing" to stop the car safely.

It appears the standard prices for the unit fitted vary from £150 to £235 on different websites.

Question

Sorry chaps am I missing something here? Someone car jacks you and drives off in your car. A few mins later it shuts down. Is'nt this asking for him or his accomplices to come running back and potentially kill you/wife/kids etc to get the code. Is'nt it better they just take your car?

I think the system lets the car drive for 500 yards or so before slowly coming to a stop with lights flashing and horn sounding, which gives you time to leg it and get the plod (or a bigger stick than they have)

better than getting a good beating and your pretty much guarenteed to get your car back in one peice

Phil

Sounds good to me, I'd definitely be interested. Carjacking does worry me and my partner a lot. Like above, is there any info in the web where I can have a look at it??
Nice Group Buy and good prices there too!

I checked into this a while ago and was told that it invalidates the Thatcham Cat 1 approval.
Is this true?
