Thinking of getting a P1 for everyday use but worried that the front lip will be constantly grounding out on speed humps and multi-storey carpark ramps.

Anyone got any experience of this?

I've got a P1, you need to take extra care, but its not a problem.

I wouldn't drive too fast over speed humps. Also be careful how you park the car, when I got mine I got the lip caught over the pavement - ouch ! cracked the spoiler underneath.

Always reverse the car in or keep well away from the pavement.

You also need to be mindful on inclines too.

Other than that you're ok !!

"Always reverse the car or keep well away from pavement".....but no more than 19" away from the pavement or the parking gastapo armed with tape measures will book you under new legislation.

Yeah I agree with the always reverse against a pavment comment! Standard speedhumps arent a worry but those big buggers need extra care. Also a few people have had problems with steep driveways

i've caught the front of mine somewhere too. its a bit loose now, gonna have to get it sorted when its having its scooby service. do watch out for the speed humps and ignore those @seh0les behind you that are in such a rush they flash you cos you go so slow over the humps

Mines only a 'standard' UK Turbo - but I did fit it with a P1 lip... Only grazed it once on a high kerb, but you do find that you can't park with the lip 'over' the kerbside, its too low (mines lowered 20mm with Eibachs..)

BUT - DONT hit any foxes at 60+, they destroy the splitter !

ISTR that it's 5.7 inches. It does get close to the pavement if you park nose to the kerb. In work I keep thinking I'm going to tread on it.

No mishaps so far and that includes speed bumps, parking and once going offroad up into a farmer's field. I was wincing in anticipation at about 0.5mph for the last one but nope, it didn't ground out.

Vindaloo.

mines smooth underneath the bottom lip

If you apply lock either to left or right when going up an incline or over a bump I find you get extra clearance rather than have the wheels 'square on'.

This works on my drive otherwise id have no spolier left.
