From Mike Wood:
Is that public enough?
From Mike Wood:
The forthcoming 320ps version we are working on for 04MY cars uses different hardware to our current package so it is not the same as you have now.

Alex,
It's funny how people didn't trust what I told them and then they get it from the source. I suppose it's just the paranoid state we live in and the amount of bullsh$tters out there.

It's not that I didn't trust what you had said Ben, quite the opposite. It's more that (and you'll know this yourself from the "PPP is going up" thread") the absence of any direct comment from Prodrive/IM had plenty of other people speculating on the exact power figure, whether or not it'd also be offered to '03 cars, whether there'd be upgrades for 305ps PPP customers etc. etc. etc. At least now those questions can be answered authoritatively without the need to resort to "unofficial sources" or any other form of nod and wink.

I believe my can of worms
Question which seems relevant. Say "certain" people would alledgedly remap the standard ECU, would have a failure, and the "standard" map would be reflashed... can it be seen by say a smart Subaru representative ?
My guess would be yes, but I've been wrong before.
Anyone knows for sure ?

when you flash an ECU you get a report on screen telling you who did the last flash and when that was, so based on that i would imagine EcuTek have tools available that will be able to read that information quite easily. Prodrive/IM would be stupid not to have that tool available to use if they suspected foul play.

To balance my last remark... you could stick on a 5 UKP FCD (circuitry available on Scoobynet ) and a bleedvalve, remove them when it all goes bang, and no one would ever know...
Strange, that worked quite well with the "old shape", and not at all with the new shape, wonder why

greasemonkey,
My last post wasn't directly aimed at you, so I apologise if it seemed that way. Probably due to the fact I posted it in this thread. But I do totally understand that it is always more reassuring to hear it straight from the horses mouth. Probably more so for yourself as you are one of few on Scoobynet who actually base their arguments on true fact rather than guesswork.
