I own a highly modded MY00 UK car (FMIC, TD05, Link etc..) and was wondering what the best thing to do as far as servicing goes.

I have a main dealer history up until when the warranty expired but now I don't consider main dealer servicing to be sufficient for my cars needs as it requires decent (hks) plugs and oil etc.

So I have decided to do the smaller services myself using very good quality oils and service parts, and get a specialist garage to do the major ones, ie cambelt and save a fortune at the same time.

So my dilemma is this, when I come to sell it will it be worth less because it has only three years worth of main dealer stamps, even though it has been serviced using specialists parts and people.

Do people buying modified cars expect a main dealer service history?

If you keep the receipts for the work you do (oil receipts, etc) and keep a log yourself, then I think that any prospective buyer of a highly (or moderately) modded car will think that is sufficient.

A simple test drive of the car should show that it is in good working order, and a visual inspection should show that the car has been well looked after.

If you seem to know what you are talking about when speaking to the potential buyer, this should inspire confidence in said buyer that the car has had a knowledgable and attentive owner.

Saying this, modded cars have a smaller audience, so this may limit the amount of offers/viewings that you get for the car anyway (come the time to sell, if such a time ever comes).

That is my 2 pennies worth.
