Question

Have had my MY02 WRX just over a year now and recently had it in for it's 10k service. I noticed in the book that it mentions a 1 year body work check for Warranty.

Spoke to the Dealer and he said it's only really worth it if you're planning on keeping the car 3 years+. It doesn't affect your Mechanical Warranty or re-sale value?????

Was just wondering what everybody elses take on this was and whether they have bothered with getting it done?

Cheers

Andy

I would be very suprised if a garage did not try to knock you down a few quid on trade in price for a car that has unstamped boxes in the service book. I is only about £75 quid a pop on 3 occasions during 5 years of the cars life - if you think how much you are spending on petrol, insurance, mechanical servicing etc etc it is going to be a fraction of one percent of the cost of owning the car. I have been getting mine done even though the car is a low miler and always parked out of the elements. Also dealer would not honour the bodywork warranty in the unlikely even you had any problems with corrosion.
