Day to day useability of a new Spec C
#1
Following a test drive, I am considering getting a new Spec C and would like some advice as to the day to day useability of the car. I cover around 15,000 to 20,000 miles per year so fuel consumption and general running costs are a consideration. I also do a fair amount of motorway driving.
How would the car compare to say a UK STI?
Will franchised Subaru dealers undertake servicing on an import?
Any comments appreciated.
Cheers
Phil

it will easily be a day to day driver
However 20mpg may not be that much fun
UK dealers will not touch it but there are loads of specialists
much better car than a uk spec one
Have you considered a Jap STI9 GL ??
same engine ext as spec c but a bit more stuff (like trim!!) hid lights ect

Thanks for the comments ScoobyTal
How will the suspension set up compare? I thought the Spec C has a slightly longer wheelbase than STI and the ride height was a bit lower? Or is this just when compared to a UK STI?
Cheers
Phil.

IMHO don't buy it for comfort Although they aren't bad, low speed stuff will jiggle in town.
And don't forget the lack of boot liner (a m8 of mine has an outwards dent from his golf clubs ). Or "oh dear handles" and wussy stuff like sound deadening etc.
You'll also be explaining the sloshing sound from the boot mounted water tank to everyone you give a ride to
Oh wtf, GO FOR IT!! You know you want to, and you'll have a hoot with it once you've got it!
