First post on the forum, so firstly, Hi!

I'm in need of a car with load space, but also one that goes, so I thought of the scooby wrx estate.

Could anyone out there let me know a list of things to look for when buying it as I've never yet driven a Suberu so I don't really know what I'm looking for. I'm reasonably savvy with cars having done up VW's for the last 6 years, but I'm in need of the load space and the Corrado just hasn't got it...
I've got about 6k to spend on one, possibly a little more...

Thanks in advance!!

Tony.

Looking at what you have to spend we are talking second hand here and quite significantly so. As a guide my MY00 UK Wagon was £12,995 in Dec 03. It came with some extras in terms of leather interior, A/C, Prodrive handling pack and so on.

You say WRX, this suggests you are looking at a Jap Import (JDM) as until the bugeye (somebody feel free to correct me here), the UK cars were just a UK Turbo, they didn't do a WRX. Again there are difference between UK and JDM of the same year, use search to see countless debates on the pros and cons.

Have a look on Subaru.co.uk you may just be able to find a Subaru approved car for that price, but you may be better looking in Auto Trader or in the For Sale forum here. Also when I was looking for a JDM Wagon they seemed about as common as rocking horse poo!

Things to look out for?
All the usual stuff you would check on a car.
You obviously need to take the turbo elements in to account and a FSH.
Again do a search for the common problem areas for Scoobies and also consider an AA or RAC inspection.

Finally best of luck and I am sure you will enjoy your scoob if you get one!
