Buy a new one, Repair the old one ?
#1
I am waiting on a cheque from my insurance as a payout on my written off car.
However I was recently told that it might be worth while to buy my car back and get it repaired by a garage. I have spoken to scooby clinic and they said they can repair anything I bring them.
I owned a MY96 STi V-ltd number 357/1000, With cusco coilovers a kakimoto straight through exhaust, carbon strutbrace and 17" OZ superturismo's.
If i get this one repaired what are the pro's and Con's or should i just get another one.
Any advice welcomed
cheers

I would say a lot depends on the nature of the damage. If the chassis was badly bent then I would think twice about it. Even with laser correction etc I am not sure I would trust a strightened body shell, it is such a key component.

depends how much the insurance company wants for it (i.e. nock off what they pay you out) + how much scooby clinic want, then consider how much it will be worth as it will be registered as being damaged and repaired, so the resale value will be less.

If you liked the car and can get it from the insurance at a sensible price i would go for it
better off knowing what your getting
the car will be worth less and the v5 will say it has been damaged due to new rules from the dvla
