Perimiter radar alarm systems, any comments?

Hi MTR,
I have a M/wave sensor fitted to a Toad Cat1 that bleeps when the vehicle is approached from less than 12 inches from the glass area. It doesn't actually trigger the alarm, only full intrusion does that. I haven't had any nuisance alarms, or false alarms from it.
Cueb.

Hi MTR,
I also have the same alarm as cueball and I also do not have any problems with it.
I also have a switch which turns the perimeter off so as not to distrub neigbours
in daylight etc.
Regards
Karlo
Worth getting unless you have lots of cats around.........or you put the switch in

I think that the cliffod sense-and-tell (intellivoice now?) can be added to other alarms: its bloody expensive though (250quid)!
The placement of the sensor and sensitivity adjustment is CRITICAL on these. Remember they mostly detect movement within a radar field, which means it doesn't detect well through metal and if it isn't mounted centrally in the car, one side will have a bigger 'range' outside than the other.
Temperature seems to affect the range/sensitivity as well!
Find a GOOD installer who has done several otherwise it will be going off constantly when the local cat decides to get warm on the bonnet!!
