"MADDOG"

with the new year upon us now, what in your opion is the safest exhaust system / back box to have, with regards to track days and noise restrictions. If you were to buy a Blitz or HKS with the bung in would you pass a noise check ? If not what other good makes are out there that would be ok.

I have a HKS Hyper (no bung) and HKS decat downpipe on my 95WRX and have been on Bedford Autodrome and Brands Hatch without any major problems (failed static test at Bedford but was fine with the drive by test!)!

measured at goodwood where they're stright about noise.

static test limit 98dB 0.5m, 45° from exhaust 3/4 max RPM.

magnex bb and centre section....88 or 89 dB (can't remember exactly)

plus scoobysport d/p on another day.....95 dB

cant remember how loud it was but i used to have a p1 with a full scoobysport system, got pulled and told to back off near the sound meters around goodwood

I had a full decat system (BPM twindump into Blitz Nur Spec R), I know with the bung in it was loudish, but with it out, I doubt it would have past noise regs. Never actually had it measured but can't say for sure.
