Can anybody tell me the symptoms of a failing MAF sensor

lumpy tickover and stalling i believe to be the case,i'm no expert but use the search there was a lot posted about them failing on the MY 99 & MY00 hope this helps

Often there aren't any which is why it's such a nasty problem. If you are lucky, it fails completly and you get a check engine light and "limp home mode"/lumpy idle. If you are unlucky, you get a car which gets faster and faster and feels great, right up until the point when it blows up!

Do a search, reams have been written about it, replace it if you have ANY doubts!

fluctuating idle in my case but could be no symptoms or lots of different ones. if in doubt, do it...
