Dump Valves

I was told 2day that putting an atmospheric dump valve on the new 03 STi wouldnt b a gd option! would mess up fuel econonmy etc.
Is this a load of ****? if so what r the best valves 2 go 4, want a powerful woooosh!

I've read somewhere that its a bad idea, no performance gains at all and can upset fueling. Spend your money on something else was the conclusion I think.
