I ordered a back box which was in stock with them on Thursday and was advised delivery on Monday. Never came. Called again on Monday afternoon to be told it hadn't been sent and would go tonight. Its now Wednesday and have been trying for 2 days to get someone to pick up the phone to tell me whats going on.
Is this normal, I thought these guys had a good reputation ??

Allan,
Sounds like a one off to me. Always had great service & friendly helpful advice (not just on stuff they sell).
Ordered some slicks last week and they were with me the next day.
Rich.

I think you will find on the BB that we all agree that Pete and co down at Scooby Sport have an exellent reputation for all the hard work and design time they've put in getting the Impreza upgardes to there highest level.
Although I would agree that at times it does get rather hectic down there and another set of hands probally wouldn't go a miss.

I made an order on March 10th, and finally got some of what I wanted on May 16th. I then cancelled the order for the rest and got a cheque back the next day.
Good luck in getting your bits.

Hi Guys
I have never had direct dealings with Scoobysport so cannot comment on their service.
I WOULD like to say that I have pestered Pete on a number of occasions about scooby related things he will never profit from, and he has always been extremely helpful.
The truth is, we are all far more willing to complain that we are to commend a job well done.
I know many people on this board are thrilled with their experiences of Scoobysport.
I just thought it was important to say this as threads like this can cause a reputation to be born which is on the whole not deserved.
We all make mistakes, and every company in the world lets people down every now and then (even Microsoft - Honest!). It is how we sort these mistakes and make up for the let-downs which proves our worth.
Allan
Make sure you tell us what the outcome is.

Simon

From what I hear - forget trying to buy mail order from scoobysport unless you can wait for weeks/months.
Of the 30 or 40 scooby owners I have come across in the north west, no-one has a good thing to say about Scoobysport, but no-one has dealt with, or attempted to deal with them in person - only mail-order. That seems to be the problem!
If you can't call in person forget it and go to Graham Goode, ABP, Falkand or the hundreds of other businesses that deliver in every sense of the word!
Just my opinion before the the flames start!

Not having done mail-order with SS, I can only say that on-site service is excellent. The only problem is that anything you need doing, factor up by 50% the time estimate. The phone rings constantly and each enquiry has to be completely dealt with before work resumes. There is a new trainee there...

Have to agree with original thread, its 3 weeks since I ordered an oil filter for my STi and there's no sign of it yet. Don't mind having to wait a bit and put business his way but this isn't doing his reputation any good. Maybe I'll go elswhere for my new backbox.

The vast majority of those that either know Pete or have been to Scoobysport for their performance 'goodies' know that he is a top class bloke that is ALWAYS helpful, friendly and full of advice. But even Superman cant save everyone.

First let me thank you guys that have posted messages in support.
I have spoken to Allan today, illness at H&S has delayed production but we will be fitting Allan's box on Saturday.
Dave Coulshaw... when I read your post I thought it was written by someone else, especially as we have not had any dealings with each other. Its a shame that your first post on this BBS couldn't be about your enjoyment of owning an Impreza, but if you feel so strongly I'm sure you will be pleased with the companies you have recommended.
Kevin, please call me, I don't have your phone number.

I posted the following on another thread, but have copied it here. Thanks again for your support.

We have had problems getting some things out on time and are slow to answer e-mails. Its not that we can't be bothered, but that we have been deluged.
Our phones ring non stop. Not just with orders, but with people thinking about buying Imprezas, people with running problems and people who want info on products. We also take all the phone calls about SIDC events and membership enquiries. E-mails are the same and we get several hundred a day. We try to cope with all of this but have needed more capacity for a while. Its not just about having enough staff, its about having the right staff. Pete K, Rob Mac and myself all own Imprezas. When people ring, they are talking to a fellow owner, not just a telephone sales person.
If we don't get things to people on time, this is because we have been let down by our suppliers. This is a very occasional occurance, but I fully appreciate that people will make more noise when they get let down, than when we get it right. To get it right, we often drive to TNT's London depot to make sure late orders still arrive the next day.
This week, I have been out visiting our suppliers, discussing how we can improve supply times, to cope with demand.
Scoobysport has grown beyond my wildest imagination over the past few years and I will be able to make a major announcement about the service we provide at the end of June.
Please be assured that we are working flat out to make sure you enjoy your Impreza as much as we enjoy ours.

I have dealt with scoobysport a couple of times for a back box and a set of wheels the service I got was top notch. I can appreciate how delays and the odd mistake can occur, when the phone keeps ringing and distracting attention from the matters in hand. All my dealings have been mail order as I'm not exactly close to ss, and so far I have always had really helpful efficient service. P.S. Pete, any sign of the cibies yet? no panic just wondering

Funny......every time I've ever rung Pete for some advice, the phone has always been answered straight away.
Perhaps he just doesn't answer the ones with new business on the end!

I must thank Peter for sorting out the delay and taking the time to fill me on on whats being going on. I guess with such a reputation trying to keep up with the demand is stretching him and his resources to the limit.
I'll be seeing him on Saturday to have my back box fitted.

In my dealings Pete has always been very helpful and doesn't seem to mind my daft questions even when I'm sure he has better things to do.
Regarding delivery times, remember he can be let down by suppliers too.

I've not actually had work done yet by Scoobysport, however that will change soon as I need my timing belt done.
The last place I took my STI to left a lot to be desired...
Broke my speedo and temp gauge
Offered me a courtesy car and then didn't have one when I got there (1 hour drive). Had to get a mechanic to clear out a car for me to have (the most God awful looking paint scheme I've ever seen on a car).
Found a small rip on the door lining. They denied it, I could not prove it was them so had to leave it.
The car also has a number of rattles since which hopefully Pete and team will put right.
Generally it was a two week nasty experience that was made worse by a very hefty bill for what should have been a straight forward service.
Needless to say, a slight delay in receiving ordered goods (I've worked in IT distribution so know this does happen from time to time) is a small price to pay and whilst annoying, it could be worse.
And who is this well known company you might ask??
To be honest, I don't feel it fair to them to broadcast it.
Pete C - I'll be calling you soon, cause it is definitely not Scoobysport.

Ive no complaints either. Three SS bacboxes later. Pete will always go through growing pains. If all the people on this BBS etc didnt phone up for a general chat he'd have 30% more time .
Its a lot of the other things that Pete and crew do for the SIDC etc that doesnt help. But would we all like Pete to just concentrate on the Business and not the club ?. I think not. Most of his work goes unrecognised and is free to the club lets not forget that.
As for Dave comments on 30-40 owners, thats plain hard to believe. Of the 15-20 owners tonight at the Bucks meet that was certainly not the feeling.

Peter, no we haven't dealt, I've only had my car for two months (dreaded cosworth owner before ), picked it up the week before the saddleworth meet up. That is were I started to realise the potential of these cars, by meeting people and hearing of there experiences.
as I said it was only my opinion and infomation I had been given mostly from the meet up.
I have used graham goodes and ABP with my cossie and always had great 'next day' service

In the first two months of ownership of old car, I went to ScoobySport three times.
Everytime, I was impressed at how good the service was! I ended up buying a backbox, downpipe, driving lights, ITG filter, braided hoses and clear side indicators.
I had to wait about 2 weeks for the driving lamps, but that was because Pete hadn't recieved them from his suppliers. I understand that these things happen, so you bear with them.
If I could find friendly service and quality products closer to home, I wouldn't do the 120 mile round trip to ScoobySport!!!!
I live in Surrey, and there is nothing near by that offer the service you recieve from ScoobySport!
I believe in singing the praises as well highlighing the poor.
I have used ScoobySport for my last car, and when I pick up the new one today, I'm down there again!!
Andy
PS- Pete, hope you've got those wheels ready!

Just thought I'd add to the good points.
I ordered a Scoobysport Back Box, went to have it fitted on a Saturday Morning and had the fitting charge waived without even asking! Can't say fairer than that. Downpipe next.

I live in Manchester and ordered a SS backbox late April which arrived the following day. Excellent service. PS It only took 10 mins to fit it myself and it fitted perfectly. Love the sound.

Got my SS back box mail order no problems arrived within a couple of days.
The exhausts are definitely worth the wait, superb sound. Everyone who get in the car comments on it . I took a friend who has an Evo 4 for a run and he was gobsmacked with the noise coming from the back .
Wasnt sure to believe the hype when I brought one but they are truely the ULTIMATE IMPREZA ACCESSORY .

Well got the exhaust sorted and must say how helpful they were and seeing the premisies wonder how they cope with the demand.
Anyway got the exahust fitted and when it was started up for the first time just grinned like the village idiot.
If you do not have a Scooby Sport back box I recommend you get one NOW !! The sound is amazing without sounding like the MK II Escort brigade.

My experience of scoobysport, via Anders, is that they are excellent and Pete Croney is a bloody good bloke.
When I think back to how awful Peugeot dealers were with my gti it really puts it into perspective
