When should I service?
#1
Hi all, I'm in need of advice as to when I should get my impreza serviced next. It's last service was the 75k/60month service last July. Seeing as it's a my00 this service was way ahead of the schedule time wise due obviously to the high mileage. Now i do very few miles and I'm still thousands away from the next 82.5k service point, however next month it will be six months since the last one. So what would it be best to do, leave it for a while until I hit the 82.5k thus allowing the time intervals to 'catch up' or get it serviced anyway on a 66month service even though it's only 48months old.
Hope I haven't made that sound more complicated than it is. Oh and the car doesn't have a subaru warrenty.
Thanks for any replies.
Paul.

Im in a similar situation at a slightly lower mileage. Its due a 'normal' 6 monthly service but have only done about 3.5K miles since last serviced in June. Would be interested in any opinions???

advice? get it serviced.
It's 6 months OR XXXX thousand miles. This I believe is due to the degradation over time of the oil/coolant etc etc.., so it should be serviced every 6 months minimum.
Wether it's true or not I don't know , just don't ask me why MY01 cars from Holland are 6 month intervals but MY01 cars bought in the UK are 12 month intervals Seems silly.
You will NOT be able to claim it has "full service history" (assuming it has up until now) if you miss a service that is "due" - the service schedule book MUST be followed if you have any sort of warantee with your car, or it will NOT be honoured.

Same here, my car is wildly over serviced and i just dont do the miles, but still keep the book dead up to scratch as a service history makes the car that bit more saleable to one serviced on mileage alone, look at it this way, would you like to buy a 5 year old scooby with 30k on the clock that has been serviced 4 times or 10 times??
