Maybe the metal thing is for fixing a child seat or so ? It looks very much like the part that holds the rear seat belts in the middle of the rear seat.

Yeah I thought of that but why would it have a relay if it is a chock.
(Has another look) - yeah it's definitely a relay 12v 22A made by Denso.

This has been asked before by someone else but I'll be buggered If I can remember what the answer was.
Was yours a euro-import per chance ? (mine was). I could only conclude it ws something to do with that....

Could well be. The odd thing is the 2 halves are clearly designed to mate and be held by the bolts. I could only conclude you'd make it that way if a) it went round something to protect it or b) it went either side of an existing (flat) panel.
I've been meaning to have another look (or even ring a dutch/belgian dealer and ask) for a while.
I was also thinking it was possibly related to soemthing UK spec has std - but Euro cars dont. My car came with a "safety kit" (fire extinguisher + 1st aid kit + Triangle) fitted by the euro dealer but (I dont believe) std on UK cars. I thought it was maybe part of that kit that related to Euro models only. rear Fog light Bracket ? or something

"I know, I know", 'jumps up and down waving one arm in the air'.
Its a puller attachment for a 'Car Lazor Liner', which is a device used for straightening crash damaged cars. I suggest you contact the dealer you bought the car from, and give them it back.
The car, not the attachment.

My guess would be part of a towbar fitting kit. The main body may be in two parts to help fitting. The relay(s?) would be so you could take feeds from the rear lights for the running lights on the trailer ?

If you attach that to the car with those bolts and then put a tow bar on it, remind me not to follow you if you are towing anything as I don't fancy pushing whatever you were towing 2 seconds before!
Really does not look substantial enough for tow bar fitting to me, not unless that relay is actually huge!

Wish I knew - easier to say what it is not than what it is!
Guess you have to work by a process of elimination, as it is not a UK car, and UK cars don't seem to have this, what are the Europeans likely to have that we aren't on a car? Short answer, dunno!

you obviously do not believe me its the bracket for the alarm system subaru uk use it for attaching the sigma m30/32 too.
your eu dealer would of used it to fit whatever dealer fit alarm system if it was staying in county or purchase but as it was supplied with no alarm they wouldnt of fitted just the bracket.
take it too whoever is going to fit your alarm and they may use it.
