Price sounds excessive - is this the same as a Lambda sensor? If so, the one on my MY00 went a few months ago, the part was around £100+VAT, dignosis and labour less than a tenner - from a main dealer. Don't think you can just disconnect it?

Cheers,

Ian.

Fault fix for cat efficiency CEL code (0420 IIRC?)

Go to the o2 censor, there are 4 wires 2 black, a white, and a blue. Leave the black ones alone, they supply power to the heating element. Insert 1 MEGAOHM 0.5 WATT resistor in the white wire.

Solder 1 MICROFARAD TANTULUM capacitor across the blue and white wires,(-VE end to the white wire). Total cost of parts 26p from Maplins......

Tried and tested on a 51 bugeye.
