MY98 is just goin through it's first winter with moi.
Bl**dy freezin this morning yet car warms up quicker than any previous car i've had (warm air through blowers in no time).
Is this the norm? (Don't mind though!)

Yes, the cars do warm up quickly... Or at least the water does. Don't blast it for a couple of minutes as the oil lags behind somewhat in the warming up race
