Please list... especially for imports. And how do you rate them?

I am compiling a list of car finance companies and rate them so that future financing can be made easy.

Cheers

I found Direct Line the cheapest and used them last time as well. Just a case of shopping about and reading the small print if you want payment protection. I personally go for a personal loan and not a car loan so if I ever needed to get rid of the car I can do so without having to worry about there being finance on it.

Have you tried this?

Autotrader Finance Centre

They contact all the top on-line lenders and give you the results instantly on-line and give them in order from cheapest to most expensive with all the details about APR, fixed or variable etc.

Got a loan through this method myself. Some pretty low APR's at the moment too. Around 6.0%.

I needed an extra few grand to buy my scoob as I had 7K but mine cost 10K. I got a loan from Tesco at 6.8% - the good thing with Tesco to me was that they said 6.8% and it was. Northern Rock quoted 6.8 on the phone but when the agreement came it was 9+% good job I checked as I doubt I'd be able to fight it.

Think its underwritten by Direct Line.

Cash.

Used, non-sequential bills with nothing bigger than a £20

Intelligent Finance, using offset banking and 0%-for-6-months credit cards to get the interest rate down to a nice round 0% :-)

I use 'Gran Finance' - its great.

No paperwork, interest free over 4 years - No late payment charges (not that I'd ever miss a payment)...

Yes folks 'Gran Finance' - the best loan in town, don't delay call today.

Your gran is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a scoob or or other car secured by her.
