....now this is what it's all about

the drive to work this morning was awesome, incredible grip in the wet and zero drift coming out of roundabouts at speed....

I love this car ! (and Goodyear F1s)

Cool

So do I - glad to have PTMW! back Still fun even when restricted to 4k revs & 0 boost

The roads (tracks) round my way are just mud from sugar-beet/hedge-cutting etc & PTMW! just treats them with disdain

Only bugger is that I cleaned PTMW! on Saturday & by yesterday evening covered in mud Glad I got a jet-washer!

i too have been loving the roads in my wagon. just feels like a dry road almost, with the F1's ! brand new set fitted fortnight ago.

really do come into there own in this weather. the roads round the isle of wight are very challenging at the best of times.

but don't let it go to your head...

I love the way the DCCD lets you alter the handling so much in the wet. Traction is amazing when you want it, let the **** step out when you dont.

Question

Puff,

Did you rebuild TMW or what exactly was wrong with it at brands?

To ozzyinnit.

Believe me. Having F1's in the snow is like having a sledge on each corner of your car.

And when your ABS kicks in as well. Oh dear.

Still, great ability in the wet.

Bit of det due to MAF sensor being faulty cracked #3, bent rod, damage crank, blew big-end bearing and dented head...

At BH thought might get away with a re-build with another crank that SS had lurking, but on stripping down, found all the damage...

New short block from Subaru has been fitted & is being run in as we speak - 200 miles to go

Still, less expensive than the Ferrari

Me too :-) !!! Had an absolute blast - even the odd four wheel slide was totally under control. Had the car three months and until now didn't realise just what she can do. Mind you, loved it on the drying roads this afternoon - now I know the limit is soooooooo much further away than I thought!

well the last time i went around a corner really quick in the wet was in a 2.5 V6 Gsi. and i must admit, its a weird feeling when your not expecting it, you know the **** end catching up with the front end.

i recoverd it nicley though, and to by stander i must have looked like a pro, but in the car was another story, i bricked it, i know the missus has not forgive me for those underpants that day .

have yet to try in scoob, only had it 5 hours,

Regards

Second orange from the top, that must be in the middle then whcih i believe would give about 50/50 split? IS this correct?

1st gear - lag, wheelspin
2nd gear - lag, wheelspin
3rd gear - lag, drive
too much power or crap tyres

PTMW: i was standing on the pit wall when u came in at brands, remember thinking "sounds nasty and terminal" but as u said, cheaper then those ferrari's that went bang!!!

i find the RB5 pretty crap handling actually, think this is due to the Pirelli P-Zero's tho, all geometry is set up ok.

or its just me crapping myself before the car actually comes into its own and GRIPS!!! i do notice understeer on some bends when pushing hard.

No, that is incorect. You are altering the lock ratio, not the torque split. With the diff display in the centre position you have a centre diff set at 50% locked, it is still 65/35 torque split.

read http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=143750

I vary the lock ratio depending on conditions and speed.
