Red face

I know there has been a few posts about STi8 bonnets vibrating at high speed but mine is now starting to scare me! Recent drives in heavy crosswinds and high speeds it has vibrated so badly it really feels like it could flip open!.

Are any STi8 owners noticing the same or has anyone done anything to tackle this problem??

Maybe it's Subaru's anti-speeding measure - no point limiting to 155mph when you don't feel safe over 90

I've had the same fears....

Does anyone know if the earlier Scoobs with aluminium bonnets had similar problems?

I have a MY96 Sti II with the aluminium bonnet but i have had it at 130mph and the bonnet is fine. Must be the newer models. I have more problems with my door seals making noise at speed!

Flat out in STi V5 no probs, apart from the glass on the passenger door started to come away from the rubber of the roof and let air in

It must be due to the HUGE scoop on the 8, that so much air gets under the bonnet, that it has nowhere to go, hence it starts to lift.

Good for performance, bad for aerodynamics!
