anyone had cold start problem fixed?

had first service done today,no joy from dealer with cold start& reverse brake squeal faults.dealers reply,havnt come across cold start fault before.you have now m8,i replied.its not good enough,paying 25k+ for a new car that wont start first time.

i know that this problem has been ongoing for almost 2 years,firstly with sti7 then sti8,having searched most of the threads.french & swiss seem to be getting new ecus fitted,has anyone in britain had cold start prob fixed.

Brake squeal in reverse is common with Scoobs and nothing to worry about. My STi7 does it and at low speed going forward.

I also used to have a cold starting problem, but this disappeared after an ecutek remap from Power Engineering, who made some map changes recommended by Subaru in addition to liberating more power.

At present my STi7 always starts first time, although when cold, e.g. blow 10 C, it only gradually peters into life.
