I think that until the current UK WRX 03 that they claimed the same performance for both the wagon and the 4 door, although I think the wagon was shown about 1-2mph slower top speed, but now on official Subaru site they claim the 0-62mph is 0.2 sec slower for the wagon than the 4 door.
As for Sti Wagons, these are import only, and will be faster than all UK wagon models (in a relatively standard trim, inc PPP) as they typically come with about 280BHP.
Classic shape Sti5 and 6 wagons are easy to come by (and you can get the 5 in Cool Grey - i.e. RB5 colour, IMHO the best scooby colour ever) and an Sti 5 wagon or otherwise will set you back somewhere in the region of £10-£11k as a private sale.
The Bugeye shape Sti 7 wagon, is much harder to find, as they are in very small numbers so are hard to come by, and the only 1 I've seen in a few evenings of searching was £19k from a trade sale.
There is no Sti wagon beyond version 7
I know this as I'm just looking to possibly upgrade my MY98 UK wagon for an Sti 7 Wagon.
