Shows how good modern anti-theft systems are when the bast@rds who nick cars need the keys to do so thesedays, it hardly ever used to happen years ago, but breaking into the house to get the keys is starting to become the standard procedure for nicking a car.

A mate of mine used to have a scoob - he got rid of it because he was so concerned about someone breaking into the house just to get the car.

Pi55es me off that anyone would choose not to have have something, just so they couldn't have it stolen from them.

I fitted two bolts to the inside of our front door this weekend, after reading similar threads. £4 for two 6 inch bolts and ten minutes to fit, lock them before bedtime

There is no excuse for NOT doing it. Shame we have to, but thats the way it will continue to go until there are more "Tony Martins" in jail Im afraid. Only then will the government maybe take notice, and maybe the scum that do this will think twice before maybe risking their lives.

I'm with you buzz, my house is like a fortress, no I do realise it won't stop the scum from entering but my theory is they will have to make that much noise getting in that I will have time to get out of my boxers and into my hunting atire and prepare a little welcome for them. I know this may sound bravado etc and loads of people will think I'm a pr*t but I'm fed up of these B&stards getting away with it and also people just saying let them have the keys, sorry M8 not without a few holes in yer bod. Long live Tony M is what I say.

I live out beyond the Styx, and when I first moved in we had a load of power cuts. I went out for a decent torch and they had short, stubby plastic ones and long hard metal ones. Guess which I bought?

I'm prepared to fight to protect my property - and if that means injury for a burglar or worse, sorry, but I'm just protecting me and my property that I've worked long and hard for. In the case of my Scooby, it's property that I've waited six months for, too. I don't know these days that he hasn't got a knife or a gun, so I won't wait for him to strike first. If he survives the experience, then I'll ask questions. If he doesn't, I'll offer the family my sympathies.

Music to my ears guys, I'd rather be tried by 12 people than carried out on a stretcher by 2 after all what's good for the goose, if they keep saying that prison is no deterant then what's to worry about........colour TV 24 hours a day, gymnasium so you can build yourself up to go and mug another poor bugger, satelite TV etc etc, makes me pig sick. I'll probably get a post saying I am talking cr&p but thats the way I feel nowadays.
GUY'S YER SCOOBY IS WELL WORTH FIGHTING FOR.

This particular copper DOES actually give a toss. I'm in the same boat as every other Subaru owner in relation to this.

Personally, if somebody breaks into my house for the keys, fine. take it. You'd have to get past the dog first!!!

But seriously, it's a piece of metal. If it goes, it goes. I'll get another one. Couldn't replace my family.

it's all about priorities

to bypass tracker they hot-wire the fuel pump and tow away, then they detect tracker location and rip it out - sorted..

it's no big secret on how they bypass security

scumbags the lot of them..

i've just had sum family up from doncaster, my cousin found two thieving cvnts stealing stuff out the back of his plumming van, went out tapped one of them on the shoulder and WHAM! KNOCKED THE LAD CLEAN OUT waited for the police and cousin said to the cop "suppose i'm gonna get nicked" he said no your not we know this lad and its about time someone taught him a lesson. the other lad ran off btw. cousin thought that was it until he woke up the next day with a hand the size of a melon, went to hospital to have an xray and they had to extract TWO TEETH out of his hand. i bet this lad will think twice before nicking again

thats the part that scares me, them entering my house. how far will they go to get the keys? i have a young family and something like that could affect them for a very long time to come. I am very angry with local plod(you may have noticed)it took them 25 mins to make the half mile trip to my house, they never even got out of the van to check my car/house. they rode around for 15 mins and thats tha last i saw or herd. meanwhile just as they where putting the kettle on back at the station the other two cars got nicked. woopydoo. hey dont speed though they have a 100% crime solve rate there.

I can understand why some people would rather let them get there
key's, probly scared for there family, which i understand,! but
there are people out there who have saved for year's to buy there's,which cant be replaced. Anyone caught trying to take mine wont need the coppers, just a BODYBAG

Red face

so many being stolen these days, they are just so high profile.

I moved to an S2000 a few weeks ago, expected the insurance to go up due to the fact it is work 9k more, has a rag top and has a bit of rep for being spun backwards into hedges..........but no, my insurance went down ! only buy about 5% but it still made me stop and think a bit

i would love to be able to just let them take my car and get a new one but it dont work like that...

1 you dont get what its worth but more importantly, your'll feel sick for weeks knowing that these b@strds got your motor and didnt give a fck for you and are still doing it.

I'd rather get injured than just rollover and give it to them.

2 guys tried to mug me on holiday and got my wallet, i chased them and got it back (wont go into detail) anyway the point is even though i got it back I felt ill for the rest of the holiday thinking about these scummers...still makes me angry now..

I would have felt even worse if i just let them have it...at least it may make them think twice next time...
