I stopped for a couple in an escort that had just got a new engine from blackbush way was just after finishing a evening service in a restaurant i used to work at, next morning i get into work and chef goes right off on one at me for stopping.
Later found out a mate of his got stabbed to death stopping for someone (although in germany).
Did make me think but to be honest i'll still pull over and help regardless of their car
Si

nope unless their car was worth more than mine because some gorillas might pop out of the suspect vehicle and say "we'll swap ya!"
serious answer: would pull next to the scoob to evaluate the situation and if it was safe to do so, ask if they needed some help.

Assuming it looks legit i would stop for most people and always women with kids in the car if in need of help.
Last chap i stopped for was in a 944 cab, just watched him get swiped by a lorry and gave my details as a witness, i hope others would do the same for me.

Came back from Carlisle on Saturday evening down the M6 and passed a very early (MY94?) red turbo on the hard shoulder. It had crossed my mind to stop but I was with my lady and the two young lads seemed to be on their mobiles so left them to it.
Was not really safe to stop anyway as motorway was busy and it was dark. Hope they got sorted OK
However, once stopped and changed a punctured wheel for a distressed women in a volvo who was struggling with two young kids...in the Aberdeen snow!

I was with a fellow Scooby owner and we stopped for a broken down Scoob on the M32 in Bristol...
But I personally would only stop if the Scoob was being driven by a fit 17 year old blonde - big Scooby driving blokes can fend for themselves

Funny one this .... as a biker I'll always stop (and even do a detour) to see if another biker by the side of the road needs help ... but never done it for a car driver. Dunno why.

stopped and picked up a fellow mountainbiker with a puncture on the snake pass once, and gave him a lift to his car.
He was well chuffed and made me feel good for a while
Don't know if I would stop for a scooby though, so many stories about car jackings starting with that scenario.......

I'd stop.
I stopped about 2 years to try and pull a Ford probe out of a ditch. It was pitch black, no other cars, miles from any where and there were 3 guys trying to pull it out. I attached a tow rope but could not pull it. Waited for about an hour until the police and the AA arrived. I told my girlfriend afterwards and she went nuts at me
Looking back at it no it was dangerous but I was carrying my maglite and I can run like forrest gump
So yes, I'd stop again.

Errr, Turboteeth, I somehow don't think you are likely to see a 17 yr old person (let alone blonde female) driving a Scooby, bloody insurance is too much, otherwise i'd have one (courtesy of student loan that is)!

I thought Scoobies never broke down, so if one is at the side of the road surely it must be a con
Seriously though Scooby or not, if someone is broken down and it looks genuine and I think I can help then I will (and have) stop to help! ...Maybe
