Have advertised my '00 classic sport in auto trader, on websites and on here and no response at all!!!

It is a great car (gotta sell as house repairs are mounting)!!

Advertised at £6750 which is way below the parkers guide price of £7500

I know scoobynet should be renamed sti-net due to the lack of response for us sport owners (and anyone in anything less than a sti) but am i over pricing or should i stick it out???

The market for all cars is a bit flat at the moment. Have you tried local free papers? Try ad trader http://www.adtrader.co.uk and there are a few free advertising sites online.

Have a few searches on autotrader etc, see whats about in your model car. If there are loads about of similar standard and price as yours then it'll be hard to sell and it may be worth adjusting your price.

Guides like parkers etc are just that,- a guide and they can't predict slumps in sales of a particular type of car. A much better guide is what are the prices of similar cars to your in autotrader and exchange and mart.

I managed to sell my UK Turbo through ad trader after 2 and a half weeks. But at the end of the day a good price does shift things a lot quicker,

Hope this helps,

Cal

parkers is not a fair reflection of used car values

they well over price cars and their worth IMHO

glasses price guide (what traders use) gives you a much more realistic price bracket

If it makes you feel any better I`ve had my STi for sale on Scoobynet for 5 days now and I still have`nt sold it !
I have had people trying to swap or part exchange but I already have my new car sorted and just want to find a new good home for my Scoob, I wouldnt mind if somebody commented about the car or the price but Ive not had many relys just loads of views !
Its in Autotrader this week and next, £68 is what it cost,
Somebody also told me to try ebay and put a reserve to where you want to sell it and also add to wording that it is advertized elsewhere so they can get hold of you even if they havent reg with ebay
Hope I`ve made you feel a bit better !!!!!!!

Your not alone with worrying about " will I sell it "

Good Luck

Pete

Been in that situation before and its worrying. I advertised mine everywhere, and do you know where I sold it, to someone looking in the local rag that is free for advertising (freeads)....

Good luck m8

A friend of mine had a low mileage blue sport MY99 in excellent condition and tried to sell it privately for £5000 (only offered £4000 for trade in against new Subaru). Eventually he took £4300. I thought he would have got much more than that!!!
