Cool

Mine (MY99)...Apart from the usual storage box on top of the dash (don't they all rattle ?)I get another one from behind the dash somewhere ,but only when the cabin warms up .Apart from that not too bad . Anyone else got any to add ? are the Bugeyes/Blobeyes much better ?
Oh and forgot to add piston slap rattle when cold

Had an annoying squeak in the cabin for a while. Couldn't find it at all until i pulled in at a desert petrol station in America. Greasy little fat bloke had a quick look and found it was the missus earring. Sorted it in seconds with a little oil can!!! (P.S. this may not be true!!)

I've got a really annoying one like a screw rolling around inside one of the doors.
Have tried shaking the doors but not hearing anything. Only hear it when going round corners. Have had it for ages but only hear it when cornering and no music playing! Not really that bothered about it but would be nice to get rid of it without stripping the car down! I'll get to it, one day...

Have an annoying squeak around the drivers side air vent on my blobeye, although have found a temporary fix - I put my foot down and the squeaking noise disappears

The sunvisors rattle / vibrate in mine (MY97). Bl**dy annoying, as they're at a pitch where you can still hear them over the stereo, regardless of the volume!

Brakes squeak too, but I think that's par for the course!

My old N Reg had loads of squeaks n rattles... most annoying was the vibration on the rear view mirror, common problem apparently... and one of the windows whistled above 70 (not that I ever exceded 70 of course) and the sun visors rattled and half the dash.... stopped all those rattles in one easy step, bought a bugeye! but now brand new rattles...

Got a squeak somewhere behind my ash tray. Might be coz it's had the carbon dash fitted... still blimmin iritating. And I think my seat has started to squeak... that's all so far... anymore and I'll have to get an MY03....

Forgot to mention the heat shield rattle when I first got the N Reg, fortunately the garage picked up the tab for that one...

Bugeye STi. My damned drink holder rattles and the passenger side seat belt clip squeaks. Small problems but on long trips it drives you nuts.

this is a damn annoying one cos its right in my left ear... the zip on the net that covers the roof vent buzz's like a wasp/fly... and no matter how much i wiggle/tighten/loosen the zip mesh, it always comes back within seconds! arrrghhh! im going to blue tack it down!

Unhappy

My 98 classic wagon's not too bad for rattles (actually is brill, just the luggage cover), but the NO1 annoying problem is that the windows dont go all the way back up once you've opened them.

If I open the door after the window has gone as far 'up' as it can then pull the up switch I can get another 5-10mm of upward movement.
This leads to two things.
1/ After using the front windows the car gets v noisey at speed.
2/ I put the thing through a car wash before I descovered this little problem and found two streams coming along my doors.

V annoying.....

The other annoying noise the car makes was my exhaust-but I got that fixed.

Car's ok otherwise!

Somewhere on the drivers door I think. If I place/squash a finger between the dashboard and the door it stops - aggravating on a new car. 2003 WRX, 3800 miles,

Oh yeah, the other annying noise I believe is called the stereo!!

Thumbs up

My 98 (S) / Passenger seat rattles a bit, it’s ok when somebody is sitting on it. I have tried tightening the bolts , but no difference! Just means the stereo has to go up louder!!

Also agree with the door one when windows are open!!

Got the annoying window problem MY00, passenger side only, have to wind the window up - open the door- and shut it then all is well.

Drivers window/ door makes a cracking sound every now and then, not sure what that is.

Passenger seat squeeks when someones is sitting in it.

Glove box contents rattle or is it just the glovebox itself.?

EVERYTHING rattles when I have the ICE turned up

But still love driving my scoob, even though it does have a few rattles here and there

Nobody has mentioned the gear lever rattle. Mine's a US spec 2.5 RS MY2000. It comes and goes, even if I hold the shift ****, it still continues to rattle when it feels like it. It is very intermittent. I also hear a ticking sound from the dash heater fan motor, only at lowest fan speed. My wife's '96 Outback (80K+ miles)has a rattling inside the drivers door, again intermittent. I've had many more annoyances on less fun cars, so what?

Forgot to mention the clutch pedal rattle, anything above 3000RPM rattles like mad, some spring loose/worn asked dealer to fix it last service but it has come back again.

Will try the rear window / front window trick, see if it works.
