All well and good, and I wish you well, but how do you intend to keep up to date with cars that get recovered and don't get updated on the website?
Just a thought.

We e-mail those people who put details on the site and "encourage" them to make sure they details are upto date. The sites not been runnign long, and it is a learning process for the team. I am sure we will get suggestions along the way we can incorporate into the site.

Mods think carefully before making this sticky. You discourage people from posting their address details on Scoobynet for obvious reasons. Car just stolen, new Scooby will be on the drive soon. Filling your address in an unknown website is folly IMHO.
How many will remember and check this site in the future?

I would just like to answer the above please. We don't ask for your address details, there are other details we use for verification. It is a valuabel service we offer and unless we get more exposure then we will always be somewhat anonymous. For fairly obvious reasons we don't put our own telephone and address details on the site.

At present when a car is stolen there is very little you can do. You tell the police and the insurance company and wait! The idea here is that you advertise the details and that people will look at the site, and in your area would look for that stolen car. When you register and give us details of the stolen car, we send you a Stolen Car Newsletter, which we encourage you to send to all your contacts in your e-mail address book.
What we want is some awareness of the problem in the UK with stolen cars, and to have a national register that is FREE.
Hope that helps a bit.

"Terms and Conditions is a button at the top of the page, between CONTACT and NEWS. Is that what you meant?"
The button must appear via ActiveX (which i block by default), which may be why i (and possibly many others) can't see it!

I have been sent this, I am not sure as to its validity, so don’t shoot the messenger!!
“The following was sent to me from a Justice of the Peace friend of mine
based in Stafford and can be taken as genuine.
Subject: SPEED CAMARAS
Sadly, this is not a joke! It is quite true !!
The new electronic signs on the M6 were switched on this Tuesday. The bad
news is that they are rigged with the SPECS speed cameras. This probably
applies to all the new signs being installed on the M62, M60 and M56.
SPECS is a computer-camera based system.
As you go past the sign a digital camera reads your number plate. When you
go past the next sign your number plate is read again. The computer 'knows'
how far apart the signs are so it can work out your average speed between
the two, or three or four.
The system is fully automatic and will issue a ticket without any form of
human intervention. It does this for every single vehicle that passes. You
will not know you have been caught as the cameras don't flash. They work
24/7, 365 days a year, and theoretically, there's absolutely no limit on
the number of tickets that the system can issue.
The whole section of the M6 between Knutsford and Preston is wired, both
ways. The system is set to trigger a ticket at 78MPH. (Don't take this as a
guarantee). Radar detectors will be of no use as SPECS is entirely passive,
there is no laser beam to detect.
Be warned and spread the news!”

Might I suggest that you read this thread and then maybe edit your post above. And also mention it to your JP friend who should know better than to spread hoax e-mails
