Which would be quicker, STi (7 or 8) PPP or a P1 with full de-cat.
How do you think the P1 would fare against an e46 M3?

P1 decat
Will probably stay with an M3 'til 100mph (from standing start) at which point the M3 will start pulling away...

Very close between the two, but if you started messing with an 8, it would be too much for the P1

P1 has a better power to weight as the STI is 200kgs heavier which makes a big difference. People get blinded by bhp figures, some artics have 400+bhp but how would they go against a scoob turbo
.
MY03 Spec C however has a good PTW ratio
.

Test drove both P1 and STI 8 PPP before plumping for the latter as it was much quicker in all gears.
P1 wasn't de-catted though so hard to say....

Rasher your S202 has about 320-330bhp and is lighter than UK STi PPPs,my STI7 has about 325bhp so a S202 would be quicker than both,so if you did anything to it WOW!!!!!!

get dash dice, scooby prodrive stickers and the new Fast N Furious airfreshner - adds at least 30bhp and loads of bottom end..

Would a de-cat make the engine more prone to 'blowing up'?

Probably, the sti engine doesnt like being decatted unless you get it remapped to compensate for it as the P1 ecu has a little spot where it leans a little, nothing serious until you decat....
