Advise needed on car change!!!

Been looking around the last few weeks to change MY02 WRX.
Test drove some P1's - awesome performance but put off by the lack of brake power.
Test drove MY02 and MY03 STI great looking car and performance nice but not amazing.
The cost for me to change MY02 to a new MY03 sti is around £8000, and I would be looking to change this car again in 12-18months time.
Do I spend £3000 on modding MY02 WRX (only 10months old 52 plate) to upgrade to PPP/change alloys/add big spoiler. This might keep me happy for another 12months.
Does the PPP on a WRX match the performance of a standard STI?
My main reason wanting to change is the lack of power with the WRX compaired with my old scooby turbos.
