Just been recycling some old mags, and had a quick read before they went, turned into a two hour coffee / car mag marathon, when i came across an article on an impreza wrx type ra sti electra 1, unveiled at the 2000 tokyo show . Anyone know what happened to this model, did it go into production in Japan . The article (in Banzai) rumored it may be coming to britain . I've never seen or heard of this model anywhere else . I also came across a soft top called a Delfino, built on a impreza chassis with the RB5 engine destined for production models . Anyone know anything about this?

The Electra 1, became the S201
The Electra 1 had the STI HID headlight convesrion which is an option in Japan, which would change the front end of the S201 into the pictures you've seen of the Electra 1.

Delfino Website
I thought there was something about Subaru not allowing their engines and 4 wheel drive system to be used. I think they were very expensive as well, but there is no information on the website about pricing.
There was a bit of stuff posted up here about it a year or so ago. Do a search on here and see what it digs up.
