Hard work in most cases I would guess. I bought my first house a month after my 18th birthday, unfortunately I lost that to an ex wife when I was 24 so back to hard grafting and bought another house when I was 26. Decided th rent that out for a while and moved into a houseshare for a while paying £236pm all in (rental income was £800pm!!).
Still renting my place out but only 2 rooms and using the 3rd bedroom for the odd night I'm at home, that way it costs me nothing to live there.
Hopefully just about to buy 3 houses in London for £246k (buy to let mortgage) and rent these out for a smidgen under £25kpa - a clear profit of £10k a year before I get out of bed. Fixed rate mortgage deal should see me 'safe' even if rates go up.
Personally its not all about hard work but opportunity and not risking it big styleee - sensible risks....

Reading through some threads and i am amazed at how young some people that post on here (assuming that they are telling the truth) are and they own good cars and have bought their own houses etc. 21/22 years old!
What I want to know is what on earth do you do for a living??!!??
So all minted young'uns sign here

But what industries are these millions being made in?
Or is it just Mummy and Daddy giving handouts?

No handouts just plain hard hard hard work!
would you believe me if i said i once worked 24hrs non-stop (no lunch break) and then whent and sat an exam at uni after work? some have it easier but most have to really graft.
industries-property development n rental-motor trade-furniture.

My mate's dad got a two year contract taking the newly cooked quiche's and pie's from Asda's bakery, and quickly driving them to the photographers, so they could take the photo to put on the front of the box!
He made an absoloute fortune, retired early with a huge house, Villa in south of France etc! Lucky B4stard, he's thick as mince aswell!

I'm 24 and live with the Rent and just barely afford the scoob.
I want to buy my own gaff, but with the stupidity of current house prices there's no chance. I think I'll wait 'till they all get repo'd and auctioned on the cheap
Still if I bought a house it'll have to be bye bye scoob, unless I land in some high flying job before the end of the year.....more chance of being s**tted on by a flying pig

When I was in my early twenties I had a Fiesta XR2, which I thought was great for the times. Not so compared to some on here.
And I cannot believe how much some pay for insurance - thousands!
My tip for great wealth - pornography! It will never go out of demand. (Note that this is not how I earn my living, but I have contributed to the pockets of a few millionaires )

Personally, I'm a right old git @ 37 (only just, stop laughing at the back) However, one does own 2 Scoobies, both purchased in the last 6 months ( I had to buy HER one to keep her out of MINE ).
...And tomorrow I take delivery of the latest model to grace the drive...
A Transit Connect SWB. Hmmmmm. Well, the fuel economy has to be better.
Self employed BTW
And skint.
And OLD
but happy

Given the way house prices keep going up I'll not even be able to afford a 2-up 2-down bus shelter by then!
