Taken from the magazines Top UK Earners. The list is of annual earnings not overall wealth!
Robert Edmiston, Business, age 57
The car importer, property owner and evangelist took a £12.74m salary from the IM Group, which he solely owns, in 2002. This was a big cut on the previous year, when he pocketed £18.719m. The son of a fighter pilot, he worked as a bank clerk before joining the car maker Jensen, which went bankrupt in 1975. With his £6,000 redundancy money he launched Birminghambased IM Motors. After winning the franchise for Subaru cars, he built IM into a big car and property group. A committed Christian since the age of 17, in 1988 he set up Christian Vision to broadcast religious radio shows by short wave to developing countries. In 2002 alone he gave £6m to charity.
Last year: £18.719m, 36

OK, he's a self-made guy who's built up a business and he gives money to charity. Good for him, I wish I had that kind of determined attitude. So why the red faced angry smiley?
