Question

having a bit of an intermittant non start problem, i have started on a course of diagnosis to establish where the fault actually lies...

checked the diagnostis bit on the cam and crank sensors (the number one choice so far) according to the service literature it should give a resistance of between 950-1,250 ohms

checked both on my multimeter and get the following

cam 2.35 ohms

crank 2.43 ohms

im using a digital multimeter, have i got a setting wrong or is this a normal set of readings.... i could understand if one was incorrect, but both to be roughly the same although technically wrong, seems to be puzzeling?

it them makes me think that the problem is not the sensors, but possibly the ignitor pack or the immob unit...

refering back to the ignotor pack,, my local factor has a reference book which covers loads of ignitors and several are for the legacy/ ej20 series engines,, although it only cross references against bosch products,,anyone know what the diamond/ bosch equivalent is
