Angry

Need to complain get it off my chest car broke down today, RAC came to my help, nothing they could do to fix the car, fair enough so they towed me to the garage using a fixed bar thing from my car to the van, on route the van did a sudden stop due to the driver miss judging a situation, which gave a slight bang. I thought nothing of it at the time, then arived at garage to find the screw on tow eye bent into the bumper, causing lots of damage( needing a new bumper ). Phoned the customer services and they think ill prolly not get compensation. Calling them tomorrow and i will get the car fixed.

anyone had similar situations

Red face

They recovered my Golf 4 Motion, the company they left my car with to deliver it to the Dealer the next day caused about 800 pounds worth of damage (although they denied it of course). They tried to route the wire to the rear number plate through the tailgate and bent it all up, needed the spoiler removing, etc. etc... but I didnt pay the RAC did. So go for it.

You can 'flat tow' them as long as all four wheels are on the ground....which i think has happened in this case as the RAC used a solid tow pole.

Unhappy

Do you have a scoob?

It sounds as though they towed it in the normal manner and not on a flat bed.

Being four wheel drive, when towed all four wheels need to be all off/ all on the ground. If they towed it with just two wheels on the ground(the rears?) then there is a strong possibility that they caused damage to the diffs and drivetrain by incorrectly towing the car

Get the car checked out, and notify the AA that they wrongly transported the car, and you also expect compensation for any damage they caused.
