At a guess the power to weight is somewhere near 180-200bhp/tonne

How did you manage to photoshop the 16ft caravan off the back of the scoob. Do you work for Industrial Light and magic

Well done lad, good to see the underdog win through

Micky - 13.9 for 290bhp Scoob is about right. Scooby Shootout they were doing 12's with 400-500bhp.

Agree with Dream weaver,
but also its not really a metro is it, i know as scooby owners it can be upsetting when the car which we believe to be almost un beatable gets beaten by another car let alone a f@##kin metro!!!! but it's not a really a metro it could have a beetle bodyshell but it does'nt make it a beetle in my book its a kit car!!!! but still fair play, fast car!!!

Ian, I drive a 205 Mi16, and have always liked the idea of underdog/Q-cars. Nothing better than some **** in a Bemmer trying to push you out of the way, then you turning on the power and thrashing them (did this to some suit in a Celica 190 last week - he was gutted)

I used to run quite a few metros when I was 16/17 (many years ago), so was always in to them, whetever people said.

STi wanna - people misconceptions of quarter mile times are astounding sometimes. Harvey was doing 12's at Elvington in his 400+ bhp Scoob, and I think Ronnie can only manage 10's in his ridiculous BHP Skyline.

To get 13's you need serious power and traction.

I wasn't sure. I know though that bhp gain v's reduction in time is a diminishing returns scenario.

yes totally agree with u mate ,

the down side to 4wd is yes it is very quick out the box , but u need a fair bit of power to keep it going , as the 4wd systerm robs the power !

my metro , is a fully road going car , eg all the seats in , as it came out of factory ! apart from the engine lol , i would say that the power is about 160-170 bhp . trying to get into the high 13's with is so looking for a chip for it now :>

Ian, mine is currently 160bhp, 900kg, but its going in for some head work shortly, then hopefully twin 45's (when I can find some at a decent price.) Should have 160bhp at the wheels then, about 198bhp at the fly.

Should be fun Will have to challenge you next year at TOTB

Thumbs up

D-W is correct, you need to hook up the launch and have some good BHP to get into 12's. I managed 13 dead at elvington and that was about it! Need more ponies to get into 12's

sticky mickey sorry mate but you are a complete t#at you have never been to santapod and ran in the wet as the track is shut down when it rains.

DOUBT IT!!!!!!

man you need to wake up mate a standard 250bhp scooby is slow up and running so how you can expect a 13 second run without a 7000rpm launch and perfect traction i dont know.
yes i know that my car is only a metro but it is strictly my work car!!!so it is as fast as a standard scooby and much better on fuel
my other car is a rover 200/25(yes i know old mans car)but it has a 220 turbo engine in it and power is /will be when its finnished around 270/280 bhp off the mark yes a scooby will beat it but up and running it is/will be easily as quick(straight line)as an sti 280bhp as it looses less power through transmition and it is alot lighter aswell
i will be at santapod on 2nd nov so come along and proove me wrong!!

if the guy is on here with the red wrx then comeon speak up dont be shy

lol

lol
lol
im not childish as that i have only ever ran at pod and i know that their timing gear is correct as its fia approved for top fuelers.
im not putting down scoobys as i like them its just that some people make me laugh with extravagent claims .ive seen some turbos run high 14s/low 15s fact.
plus dont forget my car is front wheel drive so im on a handicap from the start.

so kiss my rosey red metros ***

lol

now im being childish
