.......It snows and the roads up here get back to their slushy, muddy, leaf covered, icey patched best and I remember why the last 2 winters have been such fun (excluding the heavy snow when you end up with a 4wd un-guided missile sledge type of thingy)

Not selling now

If only he'd invent some poor sod who could rush out in the morning and change the wheels over when it's chucking it downwith the white stuff

I'm not a big fan of it most of the time to be honest, it seems to make a much bigger deal out of irregularities on the road than it needs to. The Corrado that I had before the Scoob didn't have ABS and under heavy braking a bump in the road would just cause a wee squeak as one wheel locked for a moment but the Scoob suffers quite a noticable interuption to the braking to that wheel, and pulls noticably to the side, so that or real bumpy back roads it ends up pulling back and forth across the road - Yuk!! Is the ABS on very expensive performance cars (Porsches etc) better than this ?

most of the roads I drive on are very bumpy and did notice the car bouncing around a lot when running on Bridgestone Potenza's - not half as bad now on F1's.

ABS fuse comments are interesting - The scoob is the fist car I've had with ABS, does it really make that much difference when on snow?

Wait until you try it Messiah. I lost faith in ABS a long time ago.

Just make sure theres a 1/4 mile between you and the car in front when you do
As for corners in the snow - best taken at around 0.5 MPH with opposite lock ready to be wound on

Of course I do.
Worn 3 switches out flicking between light and slightly lighter.
Concequence of living in the country I'm afraid.
Street lights in the village then pitch black on the country lanes.
I'm off now to hunt for a 4 way switch, then I'll start a group buy. Anyone know how to wire one so that it works the clock bulb via the ABS sensor etc etc etc

Had some great fun last winter in the snow.

The Scoob was amazing going up hill & on the flat (tended to use the hand brake for most corners ) BUT going down hill it was just a great big feckin sledge. A combination of the wrong tyres i.e. not snow and ABS

Remind us, somebody. Which fuse to pull??

IIRC there was a knowledgeable and sensible post either on SN or IWOC last year about driving Sccobies in the snow??

messiah - my Audi A6 Quattro's ABS was ****e. It used to come on on stutter type bumps. Once nearly ran a pedestrian over when pulling up an a cobbled street. **** me nearly pushed the pedal through the floor - it just wouldn't stop. Should have seen the geezers face - think he thought I was doing it on purpose for a laugh!

And yes ABS is lethal in snow - seriously is it easy to get a switch fitted jolly or am I being a muppet here

I did a lot of Winter walking/climbing here in Scotland last year and I still get flashbacks from travelling down some single-track road in the middle of nowhere at 70mph, when some feckin sheep decides to jump the fence and land in front of my car.

I didn't have time to **** bricks or even bother jumping on the brakes in 2" of snow. I just half-shut my eyes, moved the car as far to the left as I dared (without disappearing into the Loch) and prayed. I'm sure there was shiney streak down the length of the car from the sheeps wet nose

My m8 just looked at each me in total disbelief and we both burst out laughing
