How techical does it have to get before someone will bother repyling ?

How good does the point have to be to get a reply ?

Sorry people, But although i am new myself to scoobynet, i still see alot of newbees getting shunned because they ask basic questions !!

I know there is a search facility, and i know there`s basic reading, and i know the same questions have probably been asked at this site hundreds of times, HOWEVER !

Bear this in mind !

1 not everyone is a wiz on computers, some people probably amaze themselves by even submitting a topic

2 Some people in life like the quick and easy straight answer without ploughing through loads of old threads, Thus this gives them the time to earn the money to pay for the dam scoob.

3 This is exactly the site that people should go to for simple or obvious questions, We have a technical area dont we ?

4 The real regulars on this site tend to only answer each other in threads whilst conducting a pissing contest on there knowlegde levels, and then to top it of they will rip in on a simple spelling mistake, this is happening whilst fred blogg from tim buck2 is desperate to find out the best back box as a first mod !

Could we start to help out the newbees please !, when u see the amount of views on topics without a reply,

TAKE THE BLOODY TIME TO HELP THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm reasonably new and i disagree - you may have been unlucky with who was around when the thread was posted. things move quick here.

i think most are very welcoming and very patient.

IMHO

I'm a relative newbie myself and found the other guys/gals were more that helpful when I had a question!
This sound advice has help me spend many thousand of pounds modifying my baby
Still, more than happy to pass my limited knowledge onto anybody who wants to listen

Dont see what your beef is

Is there something in particular that has caused this outburst,

Ive been on this board for approx 10 months, and still consider myself to be a relative newbie, and pretty much everything I have asked about has been answered, by a great number of people, and without any of the symptoms you describe above

I also read the forums a lot, and use the search before I post a question, and I usually try and provide as much info as possible, so that the first few replies arent asking me further questions

As previously said, this board moves very fast, and timing usually comes into it somewhere if expecting a quick reply

I'm fairly new here and have always found people to be helpfull
Sometimes posts dont get replied to because people who know the answer are not online
havn't read your post
came online just to find info for themselves and had to go again.

But if you ask again bttt your thread someone is bound to reply

virgin ...I always try and help as much as I can , as do most people on here , but it does depend on what time of day you post. What seems to be your problem? I've been on here over a year now, and apart from a few 10 year olds who are bored with their Beanie Baby collection and decide to wind up a few Scooby drivers , i've not had any problems . May I suggest that if you don't like it YOU USE THE OFF BUTTON and perhaps try the beanie baby site instead !

i noticed the same when i 1st joined, but @ the end of the day, you join a new site your still a n00b for a while, till people suss on what your like.

theres no way round it lol
you shouldnt just barge in and ask stuff that u CAN find with the search button tho

mind you, there is topics in there that u cant find exactly what your looking for

i searched for Lambda voltages the other day and could not find what i was after, i just got loads of threads telling me halfords do a cheap one

... it doesnt help that the search facility is lamer than a lame thing being extra lame... doesnt even have the facility to select a specific forum to search Perhaps some extra development work needs to be done on the search stuff... need a hand?

Richie.

I have had loads of help and the odd line of abuse, but of all the silly questions I have asked I always get the answer I want in the end, surely the banter is all part of being on this site
