OK we all know the jap cars have more BHP, anyone know why we were denied standard air con, colour coding, folding mirrors etc on UK cars?
Personally I imagine so that IM could make even more obscene amounts of money from suckers in the UK. I'm glad that Subaru is weaker as a brand than it was when IM seemed to think they could just bend drivers over and b*ttf**k them. It seems to me the only people left interested are the true enthusiasts, hopefully some other company will pick up the baton dropped by IM and provide some real quality service.

Yep....I agree, importers tend to do a better job than the official network as well as providing a superior product.
While we're on the subject when are IM going to wake upto the fact that they are losing business in a time of a contracting market and start dealing with imports? The lack of main dealer support, fuel and increased insurance costs FORCED me into a UK car when I would have much preferred a Jap car.

I think you just answered your own question.
You were forced to buy a UK car.
1M do not make any money if you buy a Jap Import, so they will make it as hard as possible for you to do so.
The insurance companies don't help either, when I told them that my STI was a UK spec it halved my quote.

Has anybody every thought that the spec of car simply isn't available for Subaru UK to order?
Thought not!
Remember they all have to have EU homologation. Subaru UK actually work very hard to get vehicles built to the spec we all want here but sometimes it simply doesn't stack up for Subaru in Japan to homologate what we are asking for.

I think I had the option of colour coded side skirts when I bought my WRX03. And it does have colour coded mirrors, and air conditioning.
Only thing missing is electric folding mirrors, and most cars from Japan seem to lose that on their way over to Europe (save the pennies you know)
